Today, after I came back from
college, I decided to have a look further into the work I’ve been proofreading
recently and I found more sentences that make no sense and some words that have
been auto corrected into wrong words. I did do change all the errors but I was
really tired after college and Im not 100% sure if I noticed everything.
Hopefully I did but I will have to take another look at the work sometime
later. I also started proofreading a bit more since last post but Im still
getting used to it. Hopefully it will be natural to me soon.

Proofreading Part 2 (and 3) - COMPLETE
Today, I followed my PDP and Proofread
the work I found yesterday, It was hard to proofread all of it, since it is
over 10 pages… so I only read the begginig. I didn’t find anything that I
should’ve changed, atleast not significantly, but There was few sentences that
didn’t make sense in the context I used them in. This might be cause by me
having to move sentences around for the teacher when he was marking the work
last semester.
Since I improved the work right after proofreading, I also completed Part 3 of improving my proofreading before the date I planed in my PDP so I guess I don't have to re-complete part 3.

Overall I did feel like I’ve
improved my proofreading skills, but what I really need to get used to is
proofreading the work right after I write it. This will help me find errors
before submiting the work. It will take a while to get used to… Guess I could
start by proofreading this post :)

Writing, Evaluation and Proofreading... Part 1 COMPLETE! (Almost)
Today I've completed part 1 of my
Personal Development Plan for the following targets:
- Improving Writing
- Learning how to Evaluate my own work
- Being able to Proofread my own work.
Unfortunetly, I didn’t meet all
my smart targets, but I did meet the Majority of them. Here is some explenation
on each smart target:
Improving Writing
To improve my writing, I would
have to write something, but because I really couldn’t come up with anything, I
ended up not meeting this smart target. I was’nt that happy especially that
this would affect my other smart targets for the day… Luckly I found an
alternative that helped me with other smart targets…
Being able to Proofread my own work.
My last smart target for the day
was to Write something or get essay that I’ve wrote already, and so I was
thinking about writing sometihng, but then I got reminded that one of my teachers
from college told me I should proofread my work. It was in privious semester
but I thought this will be more of a ‘real
life example’ instead of writing something random… I picked up my computer
systems essay and decided I’ll proofread this work when it comes to it.
Learning how to Evaluate my own work
To learn how to evaluate my work,
I set my first smart target to be “Do something that could be evaluated or take
some of your current school work to evaluate”. Since I already picked up my
work for proofreading, cause I coudlnt write a new one, I thought it will be smart
idea to use exactly the same work as the one I used for proofreading, since
this would co-operate with proofreading.
Summary
As you can see, I didn’t meet my “Improve
Writing” smart target, but this was because I wasn;t creative at the time and I
really didn’t know what to write. I think I migh t have another go at it
sometime later. I still have a lot of time untill my PDP is due.
